Description
The Yeastar O2 Module is a modular telephony accessory designed to add 2 FXO ports to compatible Yeastar IP PBX systems. It is a fundamental component of Yeastar’s modular design philosophy, allowing businesses to integrate traditional analog telephone lines (PSTN lines) or FXS extensions from a legacy PBX into a modern VoIP communication platform.
The O2 Module is a small circuit board that plugs directly into a dedicated module slot on various Yeastar S-Series and P-Series PBX systems. An FXO (Foreign Exchange Office) port is used to connect to an external analog telephone line from a phone company’s central office or an analog extension from a traditional PBX. This allows the IP PBX to make and receive calls on these physical lines, providing a reliable trunk for inbound and outbound call traffic.
The “plug-and-play” nature of the O2 Module makes installation simple and straightforward. Once the module is inserted into the PBX’s chassis, the system automatically detects the new ports, which can then be configured through the PBX’s intuitive web-based management interface. This eliminates the need for complex wiring or a full system replacement when a business needs to add analog trunks.
The O2 Module is essential for businesses that want to preserve their existing telephone numbers, utilize legacy PSTN lines for local calls, or have a backup communication channel in case of internet or VoIP service outages. It provides a cost-effective and flexible way to extend the functionality of a Yeastar IP PBX and create a reliable hybrid communication environment.
