Description

The Moxa EDS-510E is a managed, 10-port industrial Ethernet switch. It features a unique port configuration: 7 x 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports and 3 combo ports that can be used as either 10/100/1000BaseT(X) RJ45 or 100/1000BaseSFP slots. This versatility allows it to connect both legacy Fast Ethernet devices and modern Gigabit-speed equipment, while also enabling long-distance fiber-optic connections for network uplinks or redundant rings.

As a managed switch, the EDS-510E provides a full suite of features for network control and monitoring, including VLANs for network segmentation, Quality of Service (QoS) for traffic prioritization, and comprehensive security features such as HTTPS, SSH, and sticky MAC addresses. A key feature is its support for network redundancy protocols, including Moxa’s Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain (with a recovery time of less than 20 ms) and standard RSTP/STP, which ensures minimal downtime in the event of a link failure. The switch also supports common industrial protocols like EtherNet/IP and PROFINET for seamless integration into industrial automation systems. It’s built for durability with an IP30-rated metal housing and redundant dual DC power inputs for high availability, with models available for wide operating temperature ranges from -40 °C to 75 °C
