This is a significant upgrade from its predecessor, providing a punchier bass and louder audio. The speaker’s key feature is its redesigned, fully integrated carabiner, which has a wider opening, making it easier to clip to a backpack, belt loop, or any other convenient anchor point.

Built for resilience, the Clip 5 has an IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating, ensuring it can withstand splashes, submersion in water, and exposure to dirt and sand. This makes it an ideal companion for outdoor adventures like hiking, camping, or a day at the beach.

The speaker offers a battery life of up to 12 hours on a single charge. For extended use, a Playtime Boost feature can prolong the battery life by an additional 3 hours by intelligently optimizing the speaker’s performance for efficiency. The Clip 5 utilizes Bluetooth 5.3 for a stable wireless connection. A notable new feature is the support for Auracast™, which allows users to wirelessly connect multiple Auracast-enabled JBL speakers for an expanded stereo sound or a larger, synchronized multi-speaker party setup. The speaker can also be fine-tuned and updated via the JBL Portable App, which includes a customizable equalizer to adjust highs, mids, and lows to your preference. The Clip 5 is made in part with post-consumer recycled plastic and fabric and comes in FSC-certified paper packaging, reflecting JBL’s commitment to sustainability.
