Description
The Moxa PT-7728-F-HV is a 19-inch rack-mountable Layer 2 managed Ethernet switch. It features a modular design that allows for exceptional port flexibility, with a maximum of 28 ports. This includes a combination of 10/100BaseT(X) or 100BaseFX ports, which can be tailored using optional port modules. The switch is built to provide high-speed uplinks with two Gigabit combo ports (RJ45 or SFP). It is engineered for industrial environments with an extended operating temperature range of -40 to 85°C and is certified for power substation automation (IEC 61850-3) and railway applications (EN 50155/EN 50121-4), ensuring it can withstand severe shock, vibration, and electrical noise.
The PT-7728-F-HV’s most significant features revolve around network redundancy and reliability. It supports PRP (Parallel Redundancy Protocol) and HSR (High-availability Seamless Redundancy), which are advanced protocols that provide zero-switchover time for seamless network recovery in the event of a link failure. This is critical for real-time applications like power grid automation. It also supports Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain for fast network recovery (< 20 ms). The switch offers advanced management capabilities, including VLANs, QoS, and comprehensive security features like IEEE 802.1X and Access Control Lists (ACLs). Its “HV” suffix indicates it supports a wide high-voltage power input range of 88-300 VDC or 85-264 VAC, making it compatible with the power systems found in substations and railway rolling stock.
