Description
The Logitech Tap IP is a network-connected touch controller designed to simplify the user experience in meeting rooms. It shares the same sleek design and 10.1-inch display as the standard Logitech Tap, but with a crucial difference in its connectivity. While the original Tap connects directly to a host PC or video bar via a USB cable, the Tap IP connects to the network via a single Power over Ethernet (PoE) cable. This allows for a much cleaner installation and provides greater flexibility in where the device is placed on a conference table, as it is no longer tethered to the location of the host computer.
The Tap IP provides a consistent, one-touch-join experience for starting meetings, managing the camera, and controlling audio. It runs on Logitech’s CollabOS platform and integrates with room solutions that also run on this OS, such as the Rally Bar, Rally Bar Mini, and RoomMate. This network-based connection makes it an ideal controller for appliance-based solutions, which have their own built-in computing. It also includes an integrated motion sensor that wakes the device from sleep when a person approaches, ensuring it’s always ready to go. The Tap IP does not have an HDMI input for wired content sharing like the original Tap, but it supports wireless sharing capabilities provided by the video conferencing platform. It is certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android, Zoom Rooms, and RingCentral Rooms.
