The Logitech Tap CAT5e Kit is an accessory designed to extend the placement flexibility of the standard Logitech Tap touch controller in a meeting room. This kit solves a major logistical challenge by allowing the Tap to be located up to 40 meters (131 feet) away from the meeting room’s host computer or video bar. It achieves this by transmitting both USB data and power over a single standard CAT5e cable (or higher).

The kit consists of a few key components: a Tap Receiver, a Dongle Transceiver, a power supply, and two lengths of CAT5e cable (a 2.97m and a 7m cable, for a total of approximately 10m). The setup works by converting the USB signal from the host PC into a format that can be sent over the category cable. The power supply is connected at the host PC end, and it injects power over the cable to the Tap at the other end, eliminating the need for a separate power outlet at the table. This is a crucial feature for clean, professional installations. The kit works seamlessly with all of Logitech’s Tap mounting solutions, including the Table, Riser, and Wall mounts, and provides a simple, plug-and-play solution for extending the reach of the Tap controller.
