Description
The Moxa EDS-2005-ELP is an unmanaged, 5-port Fast Ethernet switch built for the rigors of industrial environments. It provides five 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 copper ports with auto MDI/MDI-X and auto-negotiation, ensuring simple and seamless plug-and-play connectivity for a variety of Ethernet-enabled devices. The switch’s primary function is to extend wired networks with a durable and low-maintenance solution.
A key feature of the EDS-2005-ELP is its unmanaged nature, which means it requires no software configuration, making it exceptionally easy to deploy and use. However, to provide greater versatility for industrial applications, it includes user-configurable DIP switches on the exterior. These switches allow users to enable or disable Quality of Service (QoS), which prioritizes critical data in heavy traffic, and Broadcast Storm Protection (BSP), which prevents network devices from being overwhelmed by excessive broadcast packets. The device is housed in a rugged IP40-rated plastic housing and supports a wide operating voltage range of 9.6 to 60 VDC for flexible power input. It is designed for simple DIN-rail mounting and has passed extensive industrial-grade certifications for shock, vibration, and EMI/EMC, ensuring reliable performance in harsh conditions.
