Description
The AMD Radeon RX 9070 utilizes the same Navi 48 GPU as the higher-end RX 9070 XT but with a slightly reduced core count and a lower TGP (Total Graphics Power) of 220W. This focus on efficiency makes it an attractive choice for gamers who prioritize performance per watt. The card is equipped with 16 GB of GDDR6 memory on a 256-bit bus, which is a significant step up in VRAM capacity for this price segment. The RDNA 4 architecture introduces several key improvements, including a new AI upscaling solution integrated into AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) and enhanced ray tracing capabilities that, for the first time, make AMD’s ray tracing performance a more direct competitor to NVIDIA’s. While not as powerful as its XT counterpart, the RX 9070 delivers a substantial performance uplift over the previous generation’s RX 7800 XT.
