The Western Digital Blue 3D NAND SSD 500GB is a solid-state drive available in two popular form factors: a 2.5-inch / 7mm cased model and a slim M.2 2280 model. Both variants connect via a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface. With a formatted capacity of 500 GB, this drive is an excellent choice for a primary boot drive, providing ample space for the operating system, applications, and a substantial amount of personal data.

A key feature is the use of 3D NAND technology, which vertically stacks memory cells to increase storage density and reliability while reducing cost. This technology, combined with a DRAM cache and SLC caching, allows for high sequential read speeds of up to 560 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 530 MB/s, which provides a noticeable improvement in system responsiveness and file transfer times.
